Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Alexandra Channing MD, P.C., doing business as Coeur Pediatric Cardiology ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and discloses information through this website (the "Site"). It applies only to information collected through the Site.
Important:
This Policy does not apply to protected health information. Health information you provide in connection with care-including information submitted through our patient portal or electronic health record-is governed by our separate Notice of Privacy Practices and by applicable law, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Please refer to our Notice of Privacy Practices for how your protected health information is handled.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only limited technical information automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting provider may log standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the dates and times of your visits, as part of normal website operation. We do not use this information to identify individual visitors.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Site, to understand how visitors use the Site, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We use third-party service providers to support scheduling, secure communications, and patient records. These providers are contractually required to maintain the confidentiality and security of your information in compliance with HIPAA.
3. Cookies and Analytics
The Site uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for basic functionality. The Site does not use analytics, third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or advertising networks. If we add analytics or tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Policy accordingly.
4. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information to service providers who support the operation of the Site (such as our website hosting provider) under obligations of confidentiality; to comply with law, legal process, or governmental request; and to protect our rights, safety, and property. We do not sell personal information.
5. Third-Party Links and Booking
The Site links to third-party services, including our patient portal and scheduling system. Once you follow such a link, you leave this Site and your information is governed by that service's terms and privacy practices and, where applicable, our Notice of Privacy Practices-not by this Policy.
6. Your California Privacy Rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (the "CCPA"), California residents have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about them; the right to request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions; the right to correct inaccurate personal information; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, no opt-out of such activity is required.
Please note that medical information governed by HIPAA and the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act is exempt from the CCPA and is addressed by our Notice of Privacy Practices rather than this Policy.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below. We will verify your request consistent with applicable law before responding, and we will not discriminate against you for making a request.
7. Data Retention and Security
We retain information collected through the Site only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law. We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information collected through the Site. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
Our practice serves pediatric patients, but the Site is directed to parents, guardians, and referring providers rather than to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the Site. Health information about minor patients is handled through our clinical systems and governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
