I perform each echocardiogram myself and read every image personally, so the cardiologist interpreting your child's study is the same one explaining what it means. Between visits, you can message me through the patient portal or by text from your cell phone, and I answer myself.
This practice is my way of offering individualized medicine: accessible, careful, and built around the family in front of me. I will explain what I found, what it means, and what your options are.

To give you and your child the most accurate and comfortable evaluation possible, my practice is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools. This includes pediatric echocardiography, digital ECG, and wearable ambulatory heart-rhythm monitors from a global pioneer in cardiac arrhythmia detection.
DIRECT SPECIALTY CARE, IN PLAIN ENGLISH
No insurance, no surprises.
I don't participate with any insurance plans. This is an intentional choice. It lets me spend dedicated time with each family, review records in advance, stay directly accessible, and publish my prices openly.
If you would like, I provide an itemized receipt after your visit that you can submit to your plan for possible out-of-network reimbursement. I'm registered with Reimbursify to help make the process easier. Payments are HSA and FSA eligible upon confirmation by your plan's administrator.
Please note that I am unable to see patients covered by Medicare or Medi-Cal at this time.
About the practice
Coeur means heart.
Coeur is French for heart, pronounced "kur." I chose it deliberately, on several levels. As a pediatric cardiologist, the heart is the center of my clinical work - every diagnosis, every echocardiogram, every conversation with a family. Every family who walks through my door becomes the heart of this practice: the reason for how I built it, and the reason I chose to practice this way.
Coeur is also how I practice - with heart. With time, attention, and compassion for every family I see. It is not just the subject of my work. It is the way I do it.
Who I see
Care for every chapter.
Families from Vista, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, San Marcos, Solana Beach, and Del Mar often find me by searching for a baby heart doctor, a children's or kids' heart specialist, a pediatric heart murmur specialist, or a fetal cardiologist in North County San Diego. Who I see includes but is not limited to:
- Families who have already been seen elsewhere and still have questions, or whose child still has symptoms.
- Expectant parents who need a detailed evaluation of their baby's heart and a plan for delivery and after birth.
- Athletes with an abnormal ECG or with cardiac symptoms.
- Patients who have connective tissue disease with or without aortic enlargement or valve disease.
- Children and teens with chest pain, palpitations, and fainting.
- Families who want a thorough evaluation and sooner appointment time.
- Children and teens who need ongoing cardiac follow-up and want continuity with the same cardiologist.
- Clinicians seeking a pediatric cardiology opinion on their patient.
What I do not do
Where I refer out.
- I don't provide emergency care. If your child is having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
- I don't perform cardiac catheterization, surgery, or electrophysiology procedures. When your child needs one, I coordinate the referral and stay closely involved.
- I don't provide inpatient or hospital-based care.
WHEN THERE IS NOT A DEFINITIVE ANSWER YET
Insight, even in uncertainty.
Not every heart condition reveals itself all at once. Some issues I explain fully at the first visit. Others take time, observation, and repeat imaging - because as your child grows, their heart tells us more. When the answer isn't clear yet, I will tell you exactly what I know, what remains uncertain, and why. You will leave with a clear plan: how closely we are monitoring your child, what subtle changes we are watching for, and what would prompt us to act. You will not be left wondering what happens next, even while the full picture is still coming into focus.
Communication and time with me
Calm, efficient, and respectful of your time.
I generally reply to messages between seeing patients and aim to have no wait times when you arrive for your appointment. As a sole practitioner, I do not answer the phone while seeing patients. For urgent non-emergency concerns, please call my office and leave a detailed message - I will prioritize your call and respond as soon as I can. If you or your child need urgent or emergent care please seek care and do not wait for me to call you back.
