Meet your physician

Dr Alexandra Channing.

MD · Board-certified in Pediatrics & Pediatric Cardiology

My role is simple: to turn worry into understanding, and understanding into a clear plan for your child. I am a pediatric and fetal cardiologist, and I have dedicated my career to caring for babies, children, adolescents, and young adults with heart disease - and to the expectant parents who learn during pregnancy that something may be different about their baby's heart. I serve families in Vista, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside, San Marcos, Solana Beach, and Del Mar, and across North County San Diego.

Before founding this practice, I was an Associate Professor at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, where I specialized in advanced cardiac imaging and directed the Pediatric Marfan & Aortopathy Clinic. That role added to the broad fetal and pediatric cardiology expertise I have built throughout my training and career.

What I have always found most fulfilling is working closely with children and families through the difficult moments, as well as the good news and hard-won milestones. In this work, I often meet parents at a moment when uncertainty feels overwhelming. My role is the same at every visit: to give you a clear picture of what is happening, explain it in language that makes sense, and help guide you to a plan grounded in the best available evidence.

Dr. Alexandra Channing, board-certified pediatric cardiologist.
